John Abraham and Divya Khosla’s film ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ has been released in theaters across the country on 25 November. The film is also getting mixed responses. Meanwhile, the direction of the film has been revealed by Milap Jhaveri regarding a special scene related to the film.
Self-removal of the special scene :
Recently, Milap Jhaveri told in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that on November 16, Satyamev Jayate 2 was approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate and zero cuts. When the duration of the film was 138 minutes i.e. 2 hours 18 minutes but a day later, on November 17, the makers returned to the CBFC office.
Afraid of insulting the Quran?
This is because he added a sequence to the film and wants to get the approval of CBFC for it. The scene was of a Muslim woman who asks for her check from a corrupt officer in the EPFO office. The officer scolds him and tosses the Holy Quran in the air. Meanwhile, Jai Balram Azad (John Abraham) comes to the spot and respectfully holds the holy book, and asks the corrupt official to give him the check within 20 minutes before finishing the prayers.
After which, that officer hands him the check before the stipulated time. Let me tell you that this scene of the film was removed by Milap, when asked why so, he told that in the first part of the film Satyamev Jayate, there was a scene where a boy was being tortured inside the police station and the mother used to offer prayers outside. After which John’s entry happens and he saves the boy, this scene of the film was very popular. That’s why I put a similar scene in the second part, but when everyone in our team saw the film, they thought we could delete the scene as there is already a lot of spice in the film, he said.
Inspired by the scene of Sooryavanshi :
Milap told that when he saw a similar scene in Suryavanshi in which the police vacate the busy area due to the possibility of a bomb. Where a temple and a mosque are included, the priests in the temple start lifting the idol of Lord Ganesha, so that it can be kept in a safe place. At the same time, the people present in the mosque realize that the priest alone will not be able to lift the idol, so they come forward to help them, director Rohit Shetty has beautifully shown the Muslims taking off their shoes outside the temple and then helping the priests.
People have liked this scene very much and it was the scene that inspired Milap also decide to add back the scene removed by him. Also told that this scene will give such a positive message and people will like it. However, the duration of the film has now become 2 hours 21 minutes.
